Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage
This Chinese therapy makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along different energy channels of the body to establish harmonious flow of Qi throughout the body and bringing it back to balance. In Tui Na massage, the muscles and tendons are massaged and an acupressure technique is applied to directly affect the flow of Qi at different acupressure points of the body, thus facilitating the healing process. It removes the blockages and keeps the energy moving through the meridians as well as the muscles.
Reflexology is based on the premise that there are zones and reflexes on different parts of the body which corresponds to and are relative to all parts, glands and organs of the entire body. Manipulating specific reflexes removes stress, activating a parasympathetic response in the body to enable the disharmonies to be released by a physiological change in the body. With stress removed and circulation improved, the body is allowed to return to a state of homeostasis.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. Movements are slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain to restore normal movement and function.
Cupping therapy is a treatment in which the practitioner creates suction in a cup which is then applied to the body. This brings fresh blood and lymph to the area improving circulation healing the tissues. It also helps open up the chest and benefit the lungs and can even benefit menstrual problems and digestive problems. Most commonly it's used for aches and pains of various types as well as respiratory problems, cough and wheezing.
Swedish massage uses circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, percussion-like tapping, bending and stretching and long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle "knots" or adhered tissues, called adhesions. Promotes relaxation, is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Through the use of different techniques such as acupressure, stretches and massage pregnancy massage could help to reduce stress, decrease swelling, improve sleep and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. The use of proper positioning with body cushions and pillows provides comfort for the client.
